Amanda grew up in a small Iowa town and graduated from Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa with a degree in Fine Arts, focusing on painting and pottery. The summer before she graduated from college, she studied abroad in Romania at an experiential education camp for kids with HIV and AIDS. It was there that she realized the significant role experiential education played in building confidence and leadership skills in teens. Her passion for experiential education grew and her work continued through adventure-based schools in Montana, Korea, and Nepal.
Amanda worked at Spring Ridge Academy until 2019 as a Community Life Director and has returned to serve as the interim Transition and Alumni Specialist. She loves working with teenage girls, knowing that they can change their paths.
