What is the length of the program? The average length of the program is between 15 and 18 months. However, each student is different and her program length will depend on her progress. The more complex the needs of the student, the longer her program will be. Maturity is also a factor in the length of the stay. Statistics show students with less maturity and insight may have a longer length of stay while more mature, insightful and proactive students may move through the program at a faster rate. How long will my daughter be on each of the four Phases? There are minimum time frames for each phase: Phase I � two month minimum; Phase II � two month minimum; Phase III � three month minimum; Phase IV � three month minimum. As mentioned above, all students are different and will progress through each Phase at her own pace. How often will my daughter attend therapy? Students will typically attend individual therapy three weeks of every month. After thirty days enrollment, two of those sessions may be, at the therapists� discretion, full or partial telephonic Family Therapy. Group therapy, group meetings and focus groups take place five times per week. The Treatment Team will craft and schedule interventions and experiential therapy for each individual child as needed. In addition, our personal growth workshops, for students and parents, occur on a regularly scheduled basis. When can I expect to visit with my daughter? During Phase I of our program, on campus visits are permitted with permission of the therapist. Visits must be determined to be therapeutically appropriate in order to be approved. On Phase II area visits begin with your daughter which are restricted to the campus and surrounding area. Area visits are scheduled for three days and two nights. On Phase III students will be allowed area visits and home visits. Visits are five days and four nights including two travel days. On Phase IV students will be allowed visits every month and they range in length from two days to nine days. All visits are scheduled during school breaks or over weekends and each visit requires the approval of your daughter�s therapist. How much communication will I have with my daughter? As much letter writing to and from your daughter is encouraged although letters are restricted to and from immediately family members only (parents, siblings, grandparents) while your daughter is on Phase I. As your daughter advances through Phases II, III and IV, additional approved family members or supportive role models may be added to the mailing list. A semimonthly phone call is earned following 30 days of enrollment during the scheduled therapy session. Additionally, for our Phase II students , weekly weekend phone calls, 10 minutes in duration, are scheduled. All Phase III students are also included in this privilege. These phone calls are monitored by staff members. During Phase IV of the program students earn one unmonitored phone call per week from parents (20 minutes in duration). How much do parents participate? Spring Ridge Academy is a family program. Parent participation and support is a pivotal aspect of the program. In addition to on and off campus visits with your daughter, parents are expected to participate in family therapy, academic planning and attend all Parent and Family Trainings. Parents must be committed to seeing their daughter through the entire program. A student�s success is dependent on the parent�s willingness to support the therapeutic process of the program. Is the school accredited? Yes � Spring Ridge Academy is accredited by the North Central Association of School and Colleges. All credits earned are fully transferable to other high schools, boarding schools, colleges and universities. What kind of communication with Spring Ridge Academy can I expect during my daughter�s enrollment? Parents will receive regular communication from the Program throughout enrollment. Aside from semimonthly scheduled conference calls with the assigned therapist, written monthly updates are provided following the student�s monthly clinical review. These updates include progress reports from the individual therapist, academic advisor and community leader. Parents are also invited to call our Community Leaders between the hours of 12:30 � 4:00 PM M � F for an update on how their daughter is doing in the SRA community. These mentors will assist parents in staying connected with their child, keeping parents informed of their daughter�s progress in each of these important aspects of the Spring Ridge Academy program. How much physical activity will my daughter participate in? Students participate daily in physical activities, learning the importance of life-long physical conditioning as an integral part of health and fitness. Aerobics, yoga, expressive movement, weight training, intramural sports, volleyball, basketball, tennis, softball, track are scheduled with the intent of maintaining a lifetime approach to conditioning and fitness. |
