What is the length of the program?
The average length of the program is between 15 and 18 months. However, each student is different and her program length will depend on her progress. The more complex the needs of the student, the longer her program will be. Maturity is also a factor in the length of the stay. Statistics show students with less maturity and insight may have a longer length of stay while more mature, insightful and proactive students may move through the program at a faster rate.
How long will my daughter be on each of the four Phases?
Phases I and II require a minimum time frame of two months, while Phases III and IV require a three month minimum. As mentioned above, all students are different and will progress through each Phase at her own pace.
How often will my daughter attend therapy?
Students attend a one hour individual therapy session weekly and group therapy or group meetings are held daily Monday through Friday. Parents will participate in the individual therapy session biweekly after a student is enrolled for 30 days via a scheduled conference call with the assigned therapist.
When can I expect to visit with my daughter?
During Phase I of our program, a student is best served by focusing on her own issues and assimilating into the Spring Ridge Academy structure. There are no visits allowed on Phase I and you can expect your daughter to be on Phase I a minimum of two months.
On Phase II there will be a maximum of three visits with your daughter which are restricted to the campus and surrounding area. Area visits are scheduled for three days and two nights.
On Phase III students will be allowed a maximum of one area visit and three home visits. Visits are five days and four nights including two travel days.
On Phase IV students will be allowed visits every month and they range in length from two days to nine days.
All visits are scheduled during school breaks or over weekends and each visit requires the approval of your daughter’s therapist.
How much communication will I have with my daughter?
As much letter writing to and from your daughter is encouraged although letters are restricted to and from immediately family members only (parents, siblings, grandparents) while your daughter is on Phase I. As your daughter advances through Phases II, III and IV, additional approved family members or supportive role models may be added to the mailing list.
A biweekly phone call is earned following 30 days of enrollment during the scheduled therapy session. During Phase IV of the program students earn one unmonitored phone call per week from parents (20 minutes in duration).

How much do parents participate?
Spring Ridge Academy is a family program. Parent participation and support is a pivotal aspect of the program. In addition to on and off campus visits with your daughter, parents are expected to participate in family therapy, academic planning and attend all Parent and Family Trainings. Parents must be committed to seeing their daughter through the entire program. A student’s success is dependent on the parent’s willingness to support the therapeutic process of the program.
Is the school accredited?
Yes – Spring Ridge Academy is accredited by the North Central Association of School and Colleges. All credits earned are fully transferable to other high schools, boarding schools, colleges and universities.
What kind of communication with Spring Ridge Academy can I expect during my daughter’s enrollment?
Parents will receive regular communication from the Program throughout enrollment. Aside from biweekly scheduled conference calls with the assigned therapist, conference calls with an academic mentor and community mentor will be scheduled monthly. These mentors will assist parents in staying connected with their child, keeping parents informed of their daughter’s progress in each of these important aspects of the Spring Ridge Academy program.
How much physical activity will my daughter participate in?
Students participate daily in physical activities, learning the importance of life-long physical conditioning as an integral part of health and fitness. Aerobics, yoga, expressive movement, weight training, intramural sports, volleyball, basketball, tennis, softball, track are scheduled with the intent of maintaining a lifetime approach to conditioning and fitness.
