Kelly earned her undergraduate degree in English from Wesleyan College in Macon, Georgia. She pursued a career in corporate sales as a business-to-business representative, and in 2016, transitioned to teaching with the Salt River Pima Maricopa Indian Community in the Phoenix, Arizona area. Her love for teaching inspired her to obtain her teaching credentials with Teach-Now Post-Graduate School of Education in English.

In her hometown of Warner Robins, Georgia, she holds records in swimming competitions and was a member of the synchronized swimming team in college. She still enjoys swimming as well as walking and hiking with her husband and golden retriever and practicing yoga.

Clay Smith’s love of great literature and commitment to lifelong learning brought him to the teaching profession and to Spring Ridge Academy in 2014 after he attended the Parent Challenge and Action trainings.

SRA’s philosophy of personal growth through self-knowledge, acceptance, and hard work closely mirrored his own, so he jumped at the opportunity to share his skills and enthusiasm with SRA’s remarkable students.

At SRA, Mr. Smith has designed curricula with a focus on student individuality, choice, and discovery. Mr. Smith holds a BA in English Literature from Grand Canyon University and has completed a post-baccalaureate certification program in Secondary Education.
